Our Story
From a Small Takeaway to a Favourite Taste of South India.
Every great journey begins with a small step, and ours began in 2021 with a very small takeaway outlet in Shakespeare Sarani, Kolkata.
At Uttapam – Flavours of South, our journey was born out of a simple passion: bringing the comforting, authentic, and unforgettable flavours of South Indian cuisine to the people of Kolkata. What started as a humble takeaway soon became a journey fuelled by hard work, a love for food, and the trust of our customers.
From crispy, golden dosas and soft, fluffy idlis to flavourful uttapams, delicious vadas, and refreshing filter coffee, we set out to serve food that brings people together. Every dish reflects our belief that great food is not just about taste — it is about the experience, the memories, and the happiness shared around every meal.
As more people discovered and embraced our flavours, our little beginning grew into something bigger. With the love and support of our customers, we expanded beyond our first takeaway outlet and continued our journey with a commitment to quality, consistency, and warm hospitality.
Today, Uttapam – Flavours of South proudly serves Kolkata through our outlets at Shakespeare Sarani and Axis Mall, Newtown. Although we have grown since 2021, our roots remain the same: a small beginning, a big dream, and an unwavering passion for serving delicious food.
Whether you are dropping in for a quick dosa, enjoying lunch with colleagues, spending time with family, or catching up with friends over a cup of filter coffee, we want every visit to feel special.
Our journey is still unfolding, and we are grateful to every customer who has been a part of it. Your love inspires us to keep growing, keep innovating, and keep bringing you the flavours you love.
From our first little takeaway in Shakespeare Sarani to every plate we serve today, our story has always been about food, passion, and people.
Welcome to Uttapam – Flavours of South.
A small beginning. A growing dream. A whole lot of flavour.
